A mantra is a sacred sound, syllable, word, or phrase repeated during meditation and other yogic practices to invoke specific energies, focus the mind, and harmonize the body and spirit. Rooted in ancient Vedic traditions, mantras are considered to have powerful vibrational frequencies that influence the mind, subtle body, and consciousness.
The repetition of mantras, known as japa, helps in quieting the mental fluctuations, enhancing concentration, and establishing a deep connection with the present moment.
